Trent University Faculty Association passes BDS motion
A strong majority of the Trent University Faculty Association passed a motion supporting BDS on June 12, 2024. The motion demands the union and University cut ties with Israeli institutions and companies complicit in Israeli war crimes and breaches of international law, protect academic freedom, and revitalize the Scholars at Risk program and otherwise support Gazan academics and universities. It also calls for an immediate ceasefire, condemns Israeli scholasticide in Gaza and supports “students’ rights to assemble and protest peacefully on campus without disruption, surveillance, reprisal or violence from police, security, or other quarters.”
