The Emily Carr Faculty Association at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design passed a BDS motion, citing the University’s commitment to “social and environmental sustainability” and “decolonizing work.” The motion, which passed with a substantial majority on April 29, 2024, calls for ceasefire and an immediate end to the siege on Gaza. It expresses support for the international Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions campaign, as well as for dismantling colonialism and apartheid on the grounds that “Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity.”
